Julieann Summerford
joined HESCHONG MAHONE GROUP, INC. in February 2004, as a Project Manager.
She is currently an Associate Director at HMG. She has had nine years of
experience in managing residential energy efficiency programs, ranging
from new construction including building design and the installation of
ENERGY
STAR
appliances and lighting to encouraging policy changes and incentive
programs to encourage energy efficiency in affordable housing. She received a Bachelor of
Science degree in Environmental Policy Analysis and Planning for the
University
of
California
,
Davis
.
Her duties at the
HMG
include a variety of activities associated with managing the Designed for
Comfort: Efficient Affordable Housing program. This program encourages housing
authority policy that payback owner-developer investments in energy
efficiency as well as offers incentives for owners to rehab affordable
housing projects to improve efficiency.
Her responsibilities
include managing budgets, marketing, program design, and implementation. Ms. Summerford has
presented this program at numerous conferences including Housing
California, the Council for Affordable Housing and the San Diego Housing
Federation and Non-Profit Housing Association.
For a second consecutive term, Ms. Summerford is
serving on the board of the California Association of Building Energy
Consultants (CABEC) as 2004 Chair. CABEC
works to improve energy consulting by encouraging its members to learn
about the State of California’s building energy regulations, building
energy analysis, energy conservation technologies, ethics, compliance
documentation, and other matters that contribute to the professional
standards of those engaged in energy consulting.
