 From 1998 to 2004, HMG develops, prepares and provides an online distance learning program and a face to face advanced workshop for
the
U.S. DOE Federal Energy
Management Program (FEMP) . The online course delivered the course material and assignments to the students via e-mail and the Internet. The courses, tailored to the needs of federal facilities managers, cover principles of good lighting, new lamps, ballasts, fixtures and controls technologies, energy auditing, energy and economic analysis of lighting projects and retrofit project management. The curriculum was developed in collaboration with James R. Benya and Nancy Clanton.
