Derrick Leung
- Research Associate
Derrick Leung is a research associate
at the Heschong Mahone Group. He is responsible for conducting demand
response research, multifamily program implementation, energy analysis for
design assistance, and generation of utility allowances.
As a part of the demand response team, Mr. Leung
facilitates market and technical research. This work includes review of
various emerging technologies and market outreach. Mr. Leung also
coordinates efforts between developers, architects, and energy consultants
to promote energy efficiency in multifamily energy efficiency programs.
He has performed Title 24 calculations for building
populations and specific projects. These are often used for the generation
of various Utility Allowances. Other contributions to HMG include research
and calculations for embedded energy and life cycle analysis of materials.
Before coming to HMG, Mr. Leung interned at the
non-profit organization Grid Alternatives, where he created energy
analysis spreadsheets and authored marketing materials to convey the
benefits of energy-efficient technologies and incentives. He has also
interned at Merrill Lynch as a marketing intern. While there, Mr. Leung
performed market research to increase the efficiency of outreach efforts.
Mr. Leung holds a B.S. in Physics from the
University of California Riverside.
