David Douglass
Associate Manager

David Douglass is
an Associate Manager at the Heschong Mahone Group, Inc. with a strong
background in architectural lighting design, building science and
sustainable architecture.
Mr. Douglass is
currently overseeing revisions to the Advanced Lighting Guidelines in
coordination with the New Buildings Institute. These revisions include
updates on the subjects of energy and environmental impacts in relation
to the wide range of advancing lighting technologies. Mr. Douglass is
also involved in the California Daylighting Plus Program, sponsored by
the California Energy Commission’s Public Interest Energy Research
(PIER) program. His involvement includes work on both the Daylight
Metrics and Retail Revisioning projects.
Prior to working
with HMG, Mr. Douglass worked as an architectural lighting designer at
Francis Krahe and Associates in Los Angeles, CA. In addition to
traditional lighting design projects, he participated in various
research activities including the coordination and preparation of
Environmental Impact Reports, as well as the development of daylighting
design and solar photovoltaic design services.
Mr. Douglass is a
LEED AP (Accredited Professional) and has published papers on the topic
of aesthetics in sustainable architecture. Mr. Douglass received a
Bachelor of Architecture and a Master of Building Science from the
University of Southern California.
