Elizabeth McCollum
- Associate Implementation Project Manager
Ms.
McCollum is a Project Manager at the Heschong Mahone Group. She is
involved in marketing and implementation for utility-sponsored
multifamily incentive programs, design assistance and training associated
with various energy efficiency programs, as well as California codes and
standards research and development.
Since
2006, Ms. McCollum has been heavily involved in multifamily energy
efficiency program implementation. Ms. McCollum manages the Design for
Comfort (DfC) program for improved energy efficiency in the
rehabilitation of multifamily low-income housing. She is responsible
for program coordination, reporting, marketing, design assistance,
project management, quality assurance, and tenant training. She also
contributes to marketing and implementation of the Affordable Housing
Energy Efficiency Alliance (AHEEA), which offers design assistance,
charettes, and trainings for energy efficiency in affordable housing.
In addition to training and design assistance, Ms. McCollum handles
publication of AHEEA marketing and educational materials, including
brochures, the AHEEA Handbook, and a bimonthly newsletter. Ms. McCollum
is also involved in the California Multifamily New Homes Program (CANHP),
providing marketing outreach, plan checking, and management of
participating projects.
Ms.
McCollum is also managing a Codes and Standards study examining the use
of occupancy controls on HVAC thermostats and lighting for
recommendation in the 2011 California Title 24 Energy Standards.
Before
joining HMG, Elizabeth was a project architect at Design with Conservation
Associates. Her responsibilities included residential design, historic
preservation, project management, and production and documentation of
schematic and construction drawings.
Ms.
McCollum holds a Master of Design Science in Sustainable Design from the
University of Sydney and a B.S. in Architecture from the University of
Virginia. While at the University of Virginia, she worked in conjunction
with the Piedmont Housing Alliance to develop plans for a green affordable
housing community in Charlottesville, VA.
