Building Energy Analysis
Verification of SCEs Energy
Efficiency Programs
For Southern California Edison, we are tracking and verifying milestones associated
with SCEs Energy Efficiency Programs for program years 1999 through 2001. The
purpose of the work is to provide an independent assessment of SCEs CPUC-approved
program milestones and to verify and document that the milestones have been met. The work
involves direct coordination with SCE Program Managers and an understanding of the
operation of all of SCEs Energy Efficiency Programs. The on-going purpose of our
efforts is to ensure timely verification of program milestones.
We also have provided technical and process review of the energy savings analysis
submitted for Edisons 1998 Standard Performance Contract (SPC), and 1996 and 1997
DSM Bidding programs. Our work provided an independent engineering review and verification
of the project submittals. The purpose of the verification was to review the accuracy of
the savings claimed by the programs. We reviewed lighting, HVAC, refrigeration and pump
energy savings calculations and documentation. The review verified both the methodology
and the data provided to meet the requirements of the program. Final reports were
presented to the ORA for validation of Edisons program savings claims.
Bright Schools
For the California Energy Commission, and Bentley Engineering. The Heschong
Mahone Group is providing energy efficiency consulting services to school
districts around the state as they develop plans for new schools. With early involvement
in the design process, simple, cost-effective strategies can be incorporated into the
basic school design, improving both efficiency and occupant comfort. Eventually, case
study from various school designs will be assembled into an Energy Efficiency Design
Guideline for California Schools.
